Six local causes receive John Aaroe Group Community Foundation grants

In the past month, our Foundation awarded grants to six remarkable organizations devoted to supporting people with special needs, women facing cancer, initiatives to grow and share food, and LGBT equality through music and advocacy. We are proud to be a part of their vital efforts.

New Horizons

Empowering individuals with special needs through partnerships, community education, and advocacy, New Horizons’ goal is to help create a future where its clients are accepted by, participate in, and add value to the community.

Cancer Support Community - Benjamin Center

CSC offers people impacted by cancer free, essential programs overseen by licensed therapists — from support groups, mind/body classes and individual counseling to social activities and educational and nutritional workshops.

The Kitchen Community

TKC partners with local schools to help them create Learning Gardens — outdoor classrooms and experiential play spaces that connect kids to real food and empower them to make healthier food choices.

The Ovarian Cancer Circle

The Circle is committed to creating an ever-expanding ring of networking, education and support for women, their families and friends affected by ovarian cancer. It also funds research that will lead to a cure.

Gay Men’s Chorus Los Angeles

The 35-year-old GMCLA has garnered international acclaim for artistic excellence while promoting civil rights, tolerance and acceptance through music in the LA community and beyond.

Food Forward

This volunteer-powered grassroots group rescues fresh local produce that would otherwise go to waste, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same.

At John Aaroe Group, our Foundation is the heart and soul of our company. Because we all share this passion, a portion of the commission earned on every transaction goes to the Foundation to benefit our community.

John Aaroe has established and been closely involved with charitable foundations since his days with Aaroe Associates in the mid ‘90s. Since 1996, these giving efforts have invested over $2.6 million in the communities where his agents live and work.

We concentrate solely on local causes where we feel we can make a real impact, and focus our giving on four areas: community, education, the environment and health care. As these ongoing contributions enhance the wellbeing of our communities, they also enrich our own lives.
