1,500 pounds of food, picked with love
Teams of agents from all John Aaroe Group offices spent a weekend picking avocados, grapefruits and oranges that would otherwise have gone to waste for the grassroots volunteer group Food Forward. The delivered our haul to three agencies: LA on Cloud 9, serving homeless on the Westside; Foothill Unity Center in the San Gabriel Valley; and the SOVA Community Food and Resource Program in the San Fernando Valley. The effort, which will be organized again in early 2016, was a volunteer project of the John Aaroe Group Community Foundation, which has awarded grants totaling $140,000 to local causes focused on community, education, the environment and health care in the past year. John Aaroe has long led this drive to make a difference. Over the past two decades, his agents have contributed more than $2.7 million to LA area organizations.
