H-shaped house designed by Richard Banta goes for over asking in Adams Hill

A 1960s Midcentury home in Adams Hill, built in the shape of an H by architect Richard Banta, has sold for $972,000, up considerably from its October list price of $899,000. The alphabet-inspired architecture was Banta's solution for the property's steep, sloping lot. Built on a hill, the H's lower open section serves as a front entrance and carport, and the upper section is an outdoor patio overlooking the mountains of Glendale.
