Before & After: Encino home throws off its inhibitions and becomes a party animal

For a 7,200-square-foot property, the Encino house that developer Maxim Cherniavsky bought in 2015 felt cramped and cloistered. “The first time I saw it, it was 1 p.m. on a sunny day, but we still needed to turn the lights on,” Cherniavsky said. “The main entrance was hidden in a forest of trees. It reminded me of a small village house.”
