Outgoing and personable, Scott Niland serves his clients with genuine enthusiasm and a strong commitment to excellent service. Scott’s background includes more than 20 years in sales management along with expertise in home improvement and construction. This provides him with a solid foundation in sales techniques, customer service, and building relationships.

In addition to his sales ability, Scott has always held a passion for real estate. “It’s in my blood,” he says. “My mother was a Realtor®, my uncle was an accomplished architect and my grandfather a well-known appraiser in New York during the ‘30s & ‘40s. All have been very influential to me and I am excited to share this world with my clients and guide them through the experience.”

Originally from Michigan, Scott moved to California to pursue an entertainment career. A talented performer and vocalist, he soon learned that he had a gift for business, especially when it came to customer relations, marketing and networking. “I truly enjoy working with people, sharing their ideas and the creative process,” he says. “I want to take care of their needs and ensure the home buying and selling process is hassle-free and enjoyable.” Scott also has an exceptional eye for detail and always keeps the best interests of his clients in mind.

Scott studied opera and musical theater at the University of Michigan before graduating with a major in vocal performance. A resident of Marina del Rey, he knows and values the Westside lifestyle, pursuing outdoor activities like tennis, biking, and golf. An avid wine and bourbon enthusiast, he enjoys cooking and spending time with his girlfriend Cecile and their dog Ringo. He also performs in a local rock-and-roll band. “Music is food for the soul,” he says. “It’s been there throughout my whole life. It’s opened many doors and allowed me to see the world in a way where I may have never had the chance.” read less «

Highly likely to recommend - I've known Scott for a number of years. When I mentioned I was moving back home to San Diego, he went out of his way to help me and my girlfriend (now wife) find the perfect single family home. Not really knowing the area he took the time, got to know the area and showed us a number of great town homes to lease. Although we didn't find something, I recommend him for his passion, attention to detailed and tenacity. Regardless of how far away or long it takes, his eye for detail and focus on our needs is why I chose Scott to help find us the right property. I highly recommend him to anyone in the market to rent, buy or sell.

Highly likely to recommend - I have been thinking about making a housing change, but since inventory is low on the westside, it's been very difficult and frustrating to say the least. Despite these conditions, Scott continues to work diligently to help find a property that will suit my specific requests. I've known him a long time and I know he won't stop until he completes the task, regardless how long it takes. His eye for detail and focus on my needs is why I chose Scott to help me find the right property. I highly recommend him to anyone in the market to buy or sell.

Highly likely to recommend - In the high-end condo market, knowledge and keen negotiating skills are the key ingredients to a successful transaction. That is what Scott Niland had and did to successfully sale my penthouse at the Regatta Waterside in Marin Del Rey. Scott procured a buyer that made an offer that fit within my parameters and we closed the deal. It was a pleasure working with an agent that brings a professionalism that is worth noting.

Highly likely to recommend - Scott is responsive and listened to our needs. He showed up places in our target area that fit our wish list and homes that had fit our vision but we would have missed over overlooked.

Scott helped us navigate a long and complex short sale. We appreciated his consistent professionalism and patience. Highly recommend Scott to anybody!

When my fiance and I finally agreed to purchase a home for ourselves, we didn't know where to start. We were nervous, anxious and clueless on the entire process. It was very difficult to find an agent that was genuinely concerned, and treated you with equality. However, after one meeting with Scott you instantly get that peace-of-mind vibe. We had met with several other agents from visiting multiple Open House viewings, but they always had that "Car Salesman" greeting/attitude when asking questions. With Scott we never felt rushed and he was always straight to the point, honest and considerate. After agreeing to have Scott as our agent he continually kept in contact. He would answer any questions regardless if he was with another client or on vacation. Scott was always there. Being this our first home we couldn't imagine a more pleasant experience than the one we had with Scott.

Scott Niland is exactly the agent you want in this market. My wife and I met Scott at one of his own open houses in Brentwood and gave him our number. We were immediately impressed with the depth of his knowledge of the housing market on the westside, in addition to his detailed analysis of each type of property we considered. Scott was excellent at advising us on each unit and each sub-section of the neighborhoods we were searching. His responsiveness was fast and detailed as we navigated through this very competitive market. Our bids were always close to the mark so we never risked overpaying, as is tempting given the current market conditions. Scott was very creative and persistent when we finally found the property we would end up purchasing. We encountered a very challenging seller with big demands, including a 150 day leaseback which Scott was able to negotiate down to 90 days. He was with us every step of the way, including working with the seller and listing agent to allow our contractors to have access during the lease back period. Scott was critical in making sure we were able to do everything we needed without risk of upsetting the seller. This isn’t to disparage the previous owner, but in order to express how well Scott represented us, it’s important to point out the many challenges he helped us overcome. Scott never left us to handle the issues ourselves, even after the purchase had closed and the commissions were paid. I don’t know what more a buyer could ask for. On a personal note, Scott is a very nice guy, doesn’t carry any pretense, and shows a genuine interest in you, your family, and what's best for you. My family is not only happy to have chosen Scott as our agent, we're also proud to call him a friend
